A 16-year-old girl was killed by an engineering student for spurning him on Thursday in IDA Bollaram of Sangareddy district in Telangana. The accused, Aravind, is a third year BTech student of an engineering college in Nanded of Maharashtra.

HYDERABAD: A 16-year-old girl was killed by an engineering student for spurning him on Thursday in IDA Bollaram of Sangareddy district in Telangana. The accused, Aravind, is a third year BTech student of an engineering college in Nanded of Maharashtra.
The victim, Nikhita (16), was a Class 10 student. Aravind who lived nearby had proposed love to her which she rejected.

On Thursday, finding her alone, the accused entered her house at Vinayak Nagar and demanded that she accept his love.

An argument broke out between them following which Aravind slit the girl's throat with a knife.
Hearing the girl's screams, the neighbours rushed there and caught hold of the accused and beat him up. Meanwhile, some people shifted the girl to a government-run hospital. Later she succumbed to the injury while undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
